The Rock of Banished Souls

Gavan and his magickal army are fully prepared to take down the Order of the Nine Seals at the last stronghold in the United Kingdom, but when they arrive, the entire compound is empty. Not even a slip of paper is left behind to indicate where the Order has fled, but Gavan knows they were preparing an American base. Even when it is confirmed that the Order is in the United States, Gavan and his friends have no indication of where in the vast country the nefarious group has settled until a visit with a psychic gives them a single clue: “the Rock of Banished Souls.”

Gavan begins his research, trying to uncover where this code name could refer to while expanding his shop and training his new employees-the twins and Angelica. Even though Angelica doesn’t remember their relationship, the sparks are still alive between her and Gavan, and Gavan has every intention of fanning them back into the passion they once shared. The only problem is, saving the magickal world from the dealings of the Order is getting in the way. If only she could remember what brought them here, she’d understand, but without her memories, he must hurt her to save everyone in the magickal community. It’s time for Gavan to face the final battle against the Order and its cruel leader, Elrulin.

Magick Unveiled

As a child, Gavan once pulled a string through a toy with no damage to either item. Despite being under psychiatric care, Gavan has been certain since then that he has latent magickal abilities trapped within him. Running his magick shop, Dinas Affaraon, has afforded him contact with real magick and the artefacts connected to it. While the New Age products keep the store in business, he frequently takes commissions to search out artefacts of true magick. One day an appointment appears that neither he nor his employee Summer entered into the schedule. When the mysterious woman arrives and refuses to give her name or the name of her employer, Gavan is intrigued but hesitant. He has refused clients before when the magickal item is too “dark,” and this woman has provided little information. What she asks for is a thing of legend, considered allegory more than object, but the sum she offers is more than enough to send Gavan searching. Doubts rise in his mind as to the wisdom of giving such a powerful object to an unknown group with extensive power and uncertain intentions. Gavan’s moral dilemma takes turns he never expected when he begins the search. He had no way of knowing that this path was always meant for him, and the artefact may have far more to offer him than money.

Order of the Nine Seals

Gavan Maddox returned from his hunt for the Veil with his magick unlocked and an empty box. He knows the mysterious organization that sent him to find the Veil will be disappointed, and he’s keen to hide the truth from them—that the Veil gifted its extensive power to him. He subdues his magick when he meets again with the lovely Angelica, the emissary for the unknown group. Despite his efforts to hide his strength, the group suspects he has great abilities and now they want something from him.

When Angelica goes missing, Gavan knows it was his refusal to assist the group’s leader that put her in danger. Calling upon old acquaintances and new allies, Gavan uncovers the group’s headquarters and mounts a rescue mission, putting his magick at risk of manipulation by the organization. Their underground headquarters contain innumerable surprises for Gavan. It soon becomes clear that the Order of the Nine Seals has far bigger plans than kidnapping and Gavan is but one piece in their 200-year-old plot.

Call to WAR

Since discovering the nefarious intentions of the Order of the Nine Seals, Gavan Maddox has partnered with Seirina-the necromancer-to take down the Order and its head, Elrulin. This attracts the attention of many other communities the Order has interfered with. Soon, werewolves, vampires, Wiccans, and voodoo practitioners are gathering forces to attack three of the Order’s sites. Their plans attract the attention of a powerful force Gavan never imagined encountering. Some know him as the Devil, but to Gavan, he is simply Lucian.

Lucian wants to return home to Aaru, and claims to have learned his lesson in his time of banishment. In exchange for Gavan pleading his case to Isis, Lucian will provide training for Gavan along with some mysterious assistance. At first, Gavan is not swayed, but then Lucian promises a way out from the tie binding him to a skeletal beast and Gavan cannot resist any longer.
